Sylvester Stallone yet again became a victim of a death
hoax, when multiple reports claimed that the 67-year-old
actor died during a snowboarding accident.
Media Fetcher reported that the actor was vacationing
in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends when
the accident occurred. Reportedly, Stallone lost control of
his snowboard and hit a tree “at a high rate of speed,”
causing the death, the site reported.
The actor, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the
accident, was air-lifted and rushed to a local hospital,
but he is believed to have died instantly from the
impact of the crash, said the report. Neither drugs nor
alcohol played a part in the accident.
A couple of days back, the same site reported that
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson allegedly died while filming
in New Zealand after falling off the Kauri Cliffs.
Meanwhile, rumors of the Stallone’s alleged demise
gained traction after a ‘R.I.P. Sylvester Stallone’
Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’,
according to Media Mass , a satire website, noting that
the “about” section of the page gave a believable
description of how the actor died.
“At about 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday (June 11, 2014), our
beloved actor Sylvester Stallone passed away. Sylvester
Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 in New York. He will
be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy
and condolences by commenting on and liking this
page,” the section reportedly stated.
However, a quick search showed that such a page does
not exist on the social networking platform.
The Media Mass report even quoted Stallone’s
representative as saying that actor was doing well.
“He joins the long list of celebrities who have been
victimized by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop
believing what you see on the Internet,” the
representative allegedly said.
Stallone is currently busy with the promotion of “The
Expendables 3” starring himself alongside Jason
Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Wesley
Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford
and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The movie is set for an August 2014 release, and it will
feature some of the greatest action heroes of all times.
Although the first instalment in the Expendables series
did well at the box office, garnering nearly $300m at
the global box office, the second film did not do as well.
However, Stallone is optimistic about the third movie
from the franchise.
“But I believe we finally got it right on the third one –
kind of like marriage,” Stallone said while promoting the
film at the Cannes Film Festival, according to The
